The 5 Things You Must Do Before the October Exam
- Confirm your exam fee is paid. This is the most commonly missed step. Even if you are fully registered with NIOS, you must pay separate exam fees before the deadline each cycle. Log in to sdmis.nios.ac.in and check your fee payment status.
- Submit all TMAs on time. Tutor Marked Assignments (TMAs) are compulsory for most subjects. They carry 20% weightage in the final result. - Prepare subject-wise using NIOS study material. NIOS provides free official study material (available on nios.ac.in) for all Secondary and Senior Secondary subjects. This is the primary resource for exam preparation — the questions are closely aligned with the official textbooks.
What Happens If You Have an On-Demand Exam (ODE)?
NIOS also offers On-Demand Examinations (ODE) for certain Secondary subjects — these allow students to appear for exams at their own chosen time rather than waiting for the October or March exam cycle.
